Chris is a mysterious person. The halo of mystery and originality he builds
around himself makes us think of him as a taciturn and recerved person. It
isn't so actually. They say that among his friends or at parties Chris turns
into a talkative joker, whose energy you can be jealous of, though in front of
journalists he prefers to call himself "The wall of silence" and allows
talkative Neil Tennant to speak for the two of them, listening carefully,
giggling and adding rare, but apt phrases, which make Neil burst into catching laughter and
bring the press into great delight.
"Musicals are crap now, aren't they? They're all crap and very talented
people are needed to come and change everything, and we are such people."
"We don't worry about awards really. We are more interested in good music.
And these two ideas is not compartible" (laugh).
